The last email I sent out was as follows:

I wanted to send my very best wishes to you all for a happy, healthy and meaningful new year.  May 2018 bring you all your fondest wishes.

It has been a very rough time these last few months.  For those of you who may not know, all the chemo, radiation and infusions have only grown more tumors in Jerry and he was suffering terribly. On Dec 25th we decided to remove all further treatment and allow Hospice to take over.  He was not lucid at that time, had not eaten in over a week and had no strength left to hold his head up.

On Tuesday the hospital brought him home and Hospice took over.  He has been alert, eating and occasionally joking.  His caregivers assured us this was very much within the scheme of things, that it was not a sign that he was recovering in any way; but we are enjoying this time with him anyway.


We will be coming to New Jersey for the funeral which will be at Jewish Memorial Chapel in Clifton where Jerry worked as a Shomer before we moved.  My current plans are to stay in NJ for 2 weeks for Shiva and to visit with my friends and family.  Obviously we do not have any time frames now but indications are that it will be in January.  No I am not being morbid making these plans ahead of time, but if you know me you know that I have to have a plan in place, and that I probably will not be able to make decisions at that time anyway.


I will be in touch.  Thank you to everyone who visited, called and gave your support to all of us.  I know he enjoyed seeing everyone immensely and it meant more than you can ever know to me.
