My dad, Jerry Brown/Papa Bear, was diagnosed with Stage 4 gastric lymphoma on October 19, 2016. This diagnosis came following 2 hospital stays, in October 2016, just days apart due to severe blood loss with a gastric bleed.  A biopsy was taken during an endoscope at the first hospital stay. We thought at that time that dad just had a couple of stomach ulcers that started bleeding. But at the 2nd hospital stay just 9 days later, the pathology report from the biopsy had been found to show high grade B-cell lymphoma. We met with the oncologist on October 19th following dad's PET scan & the news was devastating. The PET scan showed that the lymphoma had metastasized & was present in several places in dad's body, including his chest wall, neck, left lung, stomach, pancreas, L2 vertebral body, colon, pelvis and abdomen. Most of the places where the cancer is present is lymph node involvement, since lymphoma is a blood cancer. He does have a nodule/small mass inside his left lung. We were told that there is an ~40% cure prognosis. But we believe God is the healer  & completely capable of better than a 40% chance!! Dad will begin his chemo treatments on Friday, October 21st. It will be aggressive chemo with 4 different chemo drugs & a large steroid dose. He will undergo chemo once per week every 3 weeks for 6 cycles. We are, of course, concerned about all the chemo side effects. We just want our daddy, husband, Papa Bear, brother, uncle and friend healed completely!! God is able & we believe with godly hope that he will be healed! The PET scan will be repeated once dad finishes his 6 chemo cycles. Please pray for healing, growth in all of our faith & peace in the midst of this storm. ❤️😊
