For those who know Jennifer Sanford and for those who have not yet had that opportunity, know that she is a Christian, mother of five beautiful children, loving wife, daughter, sister, US Army Band Veteran (E5 SGT, oboist), music teacher to 1,000s of students over 5 years at Susie Fuentes Elementary School in Kyle, Texas, a friend to many and now, a fighter.
On November 15, Jennifer, a healthy and vibrant woman, was diagnosed with Stage IIIB cancer, the rare form of Squamous Cell Carcinoma. She has begun what will be weeks of intense radiation and rounds of chemotherapy.
Jennifer and her family know this will be a difficult journey, but their faith in God's love and mercy is unwavering and they are blessed with the support of so many friends and family, many of whom are coming together to coordinate support. There are three areas of need that you can help support the Sanford family: Day-to-day, financial and spiritual needs.
This Caring Bridge page has been set up as a way for Jonathan to give updates and ask for prayers. He is currently in his 4th year as the In-Arena Voice of the San Antonio Spurs and Youth and Family Minister of the Southern Hills Church of Christ in Buda, TX. Jonathan can also be heard around the state of Texas announcing HS football for AISD (Bowie HS, Akins HS, Crockett HS), UIL State Championships for basketball and softball, and stock car racing.
