Hard for me to believe I am creating a caringbridge site about myself, but I think it is the best way to keep everyone up to date on my health. Two weeks ago, my world changed as I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am scheduled to have a double mastectomy and reconstruction on Thursday, October 12th. I will be in the hospital for a night and then home to recover for 6 weeks. The pathology results will determine what type of treatment I will need after surgery. The past two weeks have been filled with doctor appointments, scans, biopsies and lots of emotions and I am ready to get this cancer out of me and win this battle!
