After giving up beer for lent, my stomach started hurting. I eventually went to the doctor where they suggested a colonoscopy. Three days later got a colonoscopy and one day later (June 1, 2017) found out I have cancer. One day later had an appointment with a radiation doctor at Mission Hospital Cancer Center. Discussed options and the standard treatment consists of six weeks of radiation along with two weeks of chemo (during first week and another week approximately one month in). Met with an oncology doctor and had CT and PET scans which indicated a bit of cancer in some lymph nodes adjacent to the primary cancer site.
