Welcome to Jena's CaringBridge site. In August of 2011, our life changed significantly when doctors discovered Jena had a brain tumor. Mercifully, it proved to be of the slow growing and treatable variety, and in January of 2014 she had brain surgery to remove most of the mass. Monitoring since with MRIs, we know that now is the time to move forward with further treatment. In mid-April (2017), she begins a 6 week schedule of daily radiation and chemo. While those are intense treatments, it's important to be clear that this tumor isn't something expected to be fatal to Jena. It is treatable, just annoying and disruptive to our lives.

If you are interested in providing us a meal during Jena's treatments, we would be eternally grateful. We've set up organizing meals through the "Ways to Help" link above.  After that, go to the "planner" which should bring up a calendar and you can select dates that have meals. It's a little confusing on this site, and we are sorry for that, but it's the easiest way to organize things.

Your words, love, vibes, prayers, sighs, hands, grace, and loving faces are the greatest encouragement available to Jena, Kloe, and myself.  Thank you for pouring them out on us time and again. You have offered hope time and again, and we live at the mercy of our friends.
