On April 22nd I got the call. I heard, "I hate to tell you over the phone.." To which I replied, " I have cancer." And so the journey began.

I was diagnosed in late April with endometrial cancer. The biopsy indicated it was high grade and favored serous components. The oncologist says they treat it the same way they treat ovarian cancer, hard and fast due to the aggressive nature of this cancer.

All of this happened on a Friday and on Monday I was meeting with an Oncologist, getting blood work, and a chest x-Ray. The Doc had already scheduled the CT Scan for Tuesday and had scheduled surgery for the following Monday.

As I write this I am exactly one week post surgery. My next appointment is on May 17 where I will learn the final pathology and stage. I will also learn the treatment plan which will likely include 6 cycles of chemo treatments over 18 weeks followed by 28 rounds of radiation.
