Jared Usary

Our dear friends and family, we are creating this site as a means of communication- a way of updating as many people as possible on Jared.  This is the fastest, most effective way to communicate with our many friends and prayer warriors.  In addition, we may start posting a few of the family’s needs as many of you are wanting to help in some way.

The Usary's  family’s life was changed forever on Saturday, September 2.  Jared was up in the beautiful Idaho mountains doing the thing he loves most- bowhunting with his son and friends.  Upon returning from the morning hunt, Jared was hit with a very bad headache.  He had been experiencing painful headaches over the last month.  Feeling as though he might have been dehydrated, he began drinking lots of fluids and taking some pain relievers to try to stop the pain.  As the evening wore on, God was already working because He moved Margie to come up to camp with Joy.  Jared was feeling nauseated and wasn’t acting like himself when Margie arrived. After a very stressful car ride down the mountain, Margie and Joy took Jared to the ER.

After tests revealed something in his brain scan, Jared was transported to the main hospital.  When he arrived at the ER, many of his levels were off and the culprit to Jared’s painful headache was revealed.  Jared has three cancerous tumors in his brain and the tumors are creating some swelling in his brain. In turn, the swelling is causing him some confusion and he is being sedated to keep him safe and allow the medications that reduce swelling to work.

Sunday evening, the family met with the radiologist to go over Jared’s CT scan.  He does have an area of cancer in his lung and spots on his liver.  A technical term for this is Stage 4, however, it doesn’t mean that this cancer isn’t treatable. Monday morning, Margie and family got on their knees and prayed in the radiology department while Jared received his first radiation treatment.  By a miracle of God, Jared was able to stay still enough to get measured by the technicians for a more targeted version of radiation from this point forward.

Margie has spent almost every hour by her husband’s side.  Her devotion and deep love for her husband are evident, but that kind of vigilance takes it’s toll.  The entire family is exhausted and wondering what their future holds and yet they trust the Living God who loves Jared more than they do. Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

God has already been answering prayers as we walk through this devastating news. Jared has been blessed with an amazing day nurse who's own husband has cancer.  They’ve found the staff at the hospital to be compassionate and caring and many have given hugs of encouragement.  Many extended family members have made the trek to Boise to be by the family’s side and God has blessed them with safe travels.

Please, please pray for Jared and his family—and for their whole family. Our trust is not in human hands, but in our ever-present healer, Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. We are asking God for a miracle -to heal Jared completely and we remain confident in God's love for Jared and for his family.  We are joining our hearts with our friends and family of believers to say that we trust in God's healing and in His goodness, no matter the outcome. Lord, let your love and power shine through as you work to restore Jared’s health.

PLEASE SHARE THIS and invite your prayer warriors to pray with us over Jared’s treatment. We appreciate you all taking this humble request before the Father in prayer. He is our refuge in trouble. He is our peace.

Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
