Welcome to our CaringBridge website, which we will use to keep family and friends updated as Jan's journey progresses. We will post updates throughout, as this story unfolds. While we greatly appreciate all of your concern and wanting to reach out to Jan, please refer to this site and post questions and comments, to limit individually contacting her. While recovering, it is going to take every ounce of energy she has, but Jan will respond to all of your comments as she is able. Your comments and interaction will help to keep her spirits up, but during the course of her recovery, this will be the very best vehicle for updates. We will keep the site as up to date as possible.
What we know today is Jan was diagnosed with breast cancer on January 11, 2019. A surgery on January 17th to remove the malignant tumor provided pathology results showing this aggressive cancer, is also in her lymph nodes. Next step is another surgery on February 7th to do a complete axillary dissection. An update regarding the surgery will be posted once Jan is recovering. There may be tasks she will need assistance with, which will also be posted for those who would be willing and able to lend a hand.
