Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.
On August 16, 2018 we took Jack in for an MRI on his left knee. He had been having pain and a limp for the last month. This turned into non-weight bearing and he needed a brace and crutches this past week. The MRI revealed a concerning mass on his femur, just below the knee. Once they ran contrast they confirmed that it was cancer of an aggressive nature. They are fairly certain it is a Sarcoma. This is pretty much what we know as of 8:24 am this morning.
Today we go in for a CT/PET scan and complete bone scan. Once these tests are completed, we will be heading to UCSF Medical Center for a biopsy to find out the nature of the cancer. After that, we are told he will start chemo and then surgery or radiation.
We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Love,
Cindy, Steve, Sean, and Elaine
