Izabella arrived unexpectedly early on a Thursday evening in September. When she was born she stopped breathing but the doctors and nurses were able to control this with oxygen. She remained stable but was being referred to Scottsbluff, Nebraska or Denver, Colorado...Denver it was...she was airlifted to Denver. I was not released until Sunday but packed up and headed to Denver. While still in the hospital we got the call that Izabella had a rare heart syndrome called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. This syndrome basically means the left part of her heart isn't functioning. She went through the Norwood Procedure Tuesday September 26th, 2017. She is still in recovery and will be for little while longer. I am down here in Denver with her to be by her side until she gets better. I did however learn new information today about a possible problem with chromosome 11. Trying not to panic but should know more information soon.
