Hudson Philip Burroughs was born Wednesday, August 1st at Baptist Health Lexington. Following what was a short labor and quick delivery, it was determined that Hudson aspirated on meconium, causing severe respiratory distress. Hudson was transported to the NICU at Baptist and over the course of several hours the team determined he would be better at UK for possible treatments not available at Baptist. We transferred Hudson to UK NICU around 1am on August 2nd. Hudson has been a trooper and his birth weight of 8lbs. 15 oz., 21 inches, has made him one of the bigger babies in NICU. He is our sweet little chunky boy!
The past few days have been nothing short of a roller coaster of emotions, with the first 24 hours were by far the scariest moments Joel and I have ever experienced. The team of nurses and physicians here have been nothing short of miracle workers and we will be indebted to them for all their amazing care and support.
