From Jim,Several weeks ago I went in for a routine colonoscopy. The doctor found a "mass" in my lower colon that after biopsy, proved to be malignant. After numerous other tests, they have identified cancer in several nearby lymph nodes, as well as in a lymph node near my tonsils. Because of the logistics from Bead Lake to Spokane (over an hour each way) and the good reputation of the Cancer Treatment Center of America (CTCA) located within 10 minutes of Jean's folks house in Newnan, Ga., we opted to come to Atlanta for treatment. I have been very impresses with CTCA, and feel I will get the best care available there. I also have the support of many family members and friends here. I had surgery this morning to install a port in my chest, and I should begin chemotherapy on Wednesday. The doctors here agreed that both areas are very "treatable ", and are optimistic about the results. I will keep you posted on the progress I make, and ask you to keep me and my family in your prayers.
