Leah Lukach Helping Hands For Leah

First post: Jun 18, 2017 Latest post: Dec 13, 2017
Welcome to our "Helping Hands for Leah Lukach" CaringBridge website! We are using it to keep neighbors, friends, family and the kind extended network of people interested in offering a hand in their time of need informed as efficiently and effectively as possible as Leah bravely and beautifully begins the journey (battle) against an aggressive form of breast cancer she was diagnosed with in early June 2017.

The outpouring of support, care and concern from friends, neighbors and strangers since posting a couple of requests for help on social media on June 15th, 2017 have been super touching.  The response also made it clear that we needed to create a plan and infrastructure, utilizing tools like CaringBridge and beyond, to help us best organize and streamline the wide range of kind and generous offers to help in a multitude of ways to lift Leah up and deliver much-needed help of all kinds over the coming difficult weeks and months.

We want to ensure that all of our offers to help and interest in assisting by participating on Helping Hands for Leah is organized, manageable, and able to be structured in ways that include the most people interested in helping for as long of a period of time as possible. The ultimate goal is to lift up Leah  and her 14 year old son as they face this scary and overwhelming journey over the next 5 months of initial chemotherapy treatments she started on June 14th, 2017, and beyond, into what is currently a completely unknown future, as to what could come after November.

On this Helping Hands for Leah CaringBridge site, we will post updates on how Leah’s doing that will allow for a manageable way that Leah can communicate and receive your kind words and kind-hearted sentiments in the easiest, most stress-free way as possible.

In addition, we will attempt to organize and streamline all of the amazing offers from so many people who also feel compelled and called to provide help in a wide range of tangible ways that can take some of the “extra worries” off of Leah’s plate (or at least decrease some of them) so that she can stay focused on her health, treatments, self-care, parenting her 14-year old, working at Cub Foods to keep an income coming in (until the treatments and her health impede her from working any hours), and keeping her inner peace, strength and sanity throughout.
