Rena Sickles Healing Heart for Titus

First post: Oct 2, 2017
At 18 weeks pregnant I went to our anatomy scan just excited to find out if I was carrying a girl or a boy. We ended up not only finding out that we were about to have a 4th little boy, but that he has a huge battle ahead of him since he has a rare congenital heart defect know as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). HLHS basically means that our little boy, Titus, only has a single ventricle or a "half of a heart". When Titus arrives in Late December/Early January, he'll begin to literally fight for his life as he undergoes a minimum of 3 very invasive, open heart surgeries. The surgeries are extremely risky, but without the surgeries he would only have a maximum of a few days to live.

My goal is to enjoy this pregnancy to the fullest and every moment God gives me with my baby boy. I have a strong faith that God can and will heal him, whether it's in the womb, through surgery, or otherwise. Our God is mighty and able. I plan to journal and blog this whole journey so I can bear a testimony through this trial and give all the glory to God. I'd love to have anyone who is interested follow along as I post all the latest updates. Our family could sure use a whole team of prayer warriors and supporters during this time.
