Hannah Hardinger is 19 years old & a faithful member of the Open Arms Ministry at our church Cornerstone Baptist. Hannah has 28 diagnosis & her life has been controlled by her conditions & pain, but she has praised God though it all~! Hannah's life is a testimony for & she has led many to Jesus Christ!

On Nov 20th Hannah will have a third and hopefully last reconstruction surgery to her lower body needing many prayers! The surgery will be done by Dr De' De' @ CHP. This surgery will remove the abnormal bone deformities of the right foot and replace it with artificial equipment that will allow her foot to be at a perfect angle, structure and in good walking alignment. She will also need all the brackets of metal in both hips can be removed, Praise God she now has real hips that are strong and aligned!

Hannah will be inpatient for several days at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh following these procedures, due to the complexity of the right foot & her surgical history spoken about in her "Story". I will post continuous updates the day of and around the surgery from my new caringbridge app!!

We thank each of you for praying for our most special young lady!! She truly needs and and appreciates your prayers!!

History -Details can be found in older "journals".

Hannah's Army~Helping Hannah Recovery Again-Hannah had extensive surgery to repair her pelvic, hips and legs on November 30. 2011. Her surgeons performed over 30 different procedures to reconstruct her hips to toes and prevent further damage to her internal organs. Her muscles, tendons & ligaments were lengthened & her bones were reconstructed & replaced. Hannah remained in CHP for 2 weeks with part of that time in the ICU. Hannah then returned home with us in a body cast for 4 weeks. We'll were responsible for her care at home during this time. When the cast was removed will were inpatient at Children's Institute, a rehab hospital in Pittsburgh, due to serious complications. She faced 4 hours of wound care a day trying to heal 9 stage 4 to the bone wounds from MRSA eating away her flesh risking losing her feet. While trying to recover she endeavored learn to take her first steps walking flat footed for the first time.

I never left Hannah's side through that difficult stay & helped her every step of the way. The reason all of this was so extremely difficult for Hannah is due to her severe autism. Hannah has sensory issues & tactile sensitivity. A body cast caused her extreme anxiety. Every aspect of that surgery and recovery was amplified because of autism & her other 27 conditions. Hannah then needed a second surgery in June of 2012 while we were inpatient to re-reconstruct her from knees down due to the loss from wounds.

Hannah s surgeon told Steve & I we would need an army to help during Hannah s recovery at home. My health is fragile & I need weekly infusions at the hospital. Her surgeon said i would be most difficult even if I were healthy, the 4 of us could have never taken care of her alone. After expressing this concern to my dearest friend, Maria Mechem, Maria listened to God's calling, & started organizing "Hannah's Army". I immediately had peace when she relayed this to me!. Maria gave a presentation to both our services at church and she ended by asking, "Won t you consider joining Hannah s army and helping her and her family through this difficult time. There are many ways you can help No special skills are needed, just a loving heart".

We were overwhelmed with joy & God's love at how "Hannah's Large Army" got it through the past 3 years!! It brings tears to my eyes every time I think on this! The continued prayers for us have been a vital tool in God's handiwork, & it amazes us how God handles every small detail to put together His perfect plan. God put together Hannah's huge army before we even knew she needed the surgeries!! We serve an AWESOME God!!! He ALWAYS takes care of our Hannah!

I know we have faced a long difficult road, but we had had a continued peace and haven't done it alone! Steve, Jan, Hannah, Bethany, Ethan, Noah, & myself thank you for your prayers for our family & the love shown to us! We thank "Hannah's Army"!! I personally thank you with all of my heart, & I know that God will richly bless you! Those that have been on the front line of this army, was indeed the first to see GOD'S MIRACLES, BLESSINGS & JOY THAT HAVE TAKEN PLACE!! OUR HEARTS & LIVES HAVE FOREVER BEEN TOUCHED BY GOD!! Those who sow in tears, shall reap in joy.~Psalm 126:5~ I want to end by saying, Hannah is extremely intelligent, & is more in tune with this world, people & God than we can understand. Hannah knows what is done for her, and will never forget any small deed of kindness given to her or our family!! God Bless You All!! ~Marcy Hardinger

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.~1 John 3:18
