Welcome to Hannah’s CaringBridge. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

Hannah was diagnosed in early January, 2020 with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Ewing’s Sarcoma is a cancer that usually occurs in and around the bones( a tumor in the bone or soft tissue.) It is extremely rare. In children and young adults there are typically about 200 cases per year. This type of cancer is most often found in the legs, arms, bones of the pelvis but Hannah’s tumor is in her cheek bone, near her left eye.

After a couple weeks and many tests at Mayo in Rochester, she began chemotherapy on January 21st with 2 treatment days. She was off for a full week then back on last week for 5 treatment days. She is off again this week and back on next week for 2 treatment days as long as her blood counts stay within the right range. The current plan is to continue this for a 13 week cycle then more testing to see where to go from there.

She is currently tolerating everything pretty well and just trying to stay up to date with her schoolwork while staying away from the (SO) many nasty bugs out there right now with her compromised immune system.

Please keep her in your thoughts as she continues this fight. We’ll let you know here how she’s doing when things come up!!
