So many of you have expressed your love, concern, and prayers for Hank as he is in the hospital. All updates on Hank and his progress will be posted here so that Martha can focus her time on caring for Hank. He is in Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg.
Over the last several weeks Hank experienced serious shortness of breath. As breathing became more difficult Hank’s strength waned. On Monday, December 3, Hank and Martha went to the hospital, where Hank was immediately admitted to the ICU. He is suffering from congestive heart failure and pneumonia in one lung. The situation is also complicated by blood clots in his heart and lungs. The doctors have worked very hard to treat the pneumonia and blood clots, which both seem to be abating.
In spite of his progress, Hank’s heart remains critically weak. The current challenge is arrhythmia, as Hank’s heart is not able to maintain a regular beating rythym. The doctors have proposed several plans over the next few days, which will be critical. Please continue to pray and watch here for updates.
