Gwen Briggs

Gwen was admitted to the ER on Saturday, July 15th with severe abdominal pain and some bleeding. After her first CAT scan, doctors initially diagnosed as colon cancer. Pathology from her biopsies told a different story: Stage 4 ovarian cancer which means the cancer has spread extensively. Once the diagnosis was confirmed, things started moving very fast. Gwen will have 3 rounds of chemo to help shrink down the tumors, followed by surgery to remove what they can. 
We have an amazing team of doctors planning her health care and are so thankful for our friends and family's support during this time. Though we may not respond to every email, phone call, and text, they mean a lot! We'll keep you updated here with any significant news. 
This all seemed to come out of nowhere and we're preparing for a long road ahead, but are hopeful for a strong response to the chemo and quick progress on the road to recovery.
