On January 10th Gordie went to his family physician for a sore under his tongue. He was then referred to an ENT Dr. who felt he had cancer and ordered a CT scan to be performed on the 12th. On that day he was found to have blood clots in his lungs and was immediately admitted to Fairview Ridges in Burnsville. He spent one night there and they were able to manage the clots with some blood thinners. The ENT Dr. also wanted to do a more in depth biopsy. So on January 18th he had a surgical procedure done that confirmed it was in fact Cancer.

On January 25th he went to the University Of Minnesota for a PET Scan and another CT Scan. He was able to meet with a few of the surgeons who will be treating him. They asked us to come back on February 1st to discuss his treatment plan.

During that appointment, surgery was set for February 23rd to remove the tumor under his tongue. A few days later we received a call that the surgery had been moved up to Feb. 9th.
