Gail, lover of Como Zoo Giraffes, a great friend to many, and long time resident of Skillman house, had a medical emergency on the morning of December 5, 2016. Gail went to the E.R. with a temp of 104 and being unresponsive. She was put on oxygen while tests were run. Tests revealed an infection and pnuemonia. Meds were started to help Gail recover, but she quickly declined. We realized Gail may be leaving us soon. Gathered around her were friends from Wingspan Life Resources, her family of friends, Sue, Amy & Dan,& Chris, and Pastor Brenda. We surrounded Gail with love and prayers, and blessed her with the Sign of the Cross of Christ, singing all the way, Gail was removed from supports so she could go and meet Jesus. A 1/2 hour passed and Gail was still singing with us. An hour went by and Gail was still keeping time to the music. After an hour and a 1/2, we realized Gail was singing her own song to us and this was her journey. Gail was diagnosed with sepsis due to infection and moved to the St. Johns Medical center hospice unit. This is her story.
