Gabriel Goins Gabriels journey

First post: Jul 23, 2017 Latest post: Mar 3, 2020
Gabriel was born with a birth defect in his airway. The correct medical term is laryngomalacia. We had a healthy pregnancy and expected none of this! The only thing we expected was to have a big baby, which was why I was induced. He was supposed to weigh 10-11 pounds and surprised everyone weighing in at 8 pounds and 12 ounces. He had strider breathing problems the first day but we were told he breathed in some amniotic fluid and it was nothing to worry about. It wasn't until he got very bad choked and couldn't catch his breath that they figured out something was wrong. He was sent to the NICU at one day old and we are still there..he has good days with feedings and eats his whole bottles then he has days when he really doesn't have enough energy to drink and suck the bottle. He gets out of breath very fast when eating...
