Freida DeVergilio Freida's Friends

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  As many of you know, Freida has had multiple health issues over the past years. This Christmas Eve, Freida collapsed at home and suffered a very serious open fracture of her right ankle (trimalleolar open fracture). She was admitted to Huron Valley Hospital where she had surgery on Christmas Day.  The surgery revealed the full extent of her injury which is quite bad. The surgeon used an external fixator device to stabilize her bones but she had extensive soft tissue damage. Because of her other health issues, Freida was transferred to Detroit Receiving Hospital to receive additional care and surgeries.   Her surgical team is confident they can help her, but she has a long road to recovery. We hope to use Caring Bridge was a way to keep Freida's loved ones informed of her ongoing progress.
