Good Day to all! During a bout with pneumonia earlier this summer, the radiologists surprisingly discovered a malignant spot on my lung. I would never have known it was there without the standard operation procedure X-rays. As of now, I have a consult with Dr. Paul Koh, a Thoracic Surgeon in Eugene, and the support of my Pulmonologist, Dr. Rughani. We will know more after my September 12th consult, and I will keep everyone updated as to my surgery plans, and the resultant pathology staging of my tumor. At this time the only treatment scheduled is the surgical removal of the tumor from my lower left lung lobe. More will be determined after the pathology report comes back. Currently, I am finding my introduction to the world of cancer and treatment very illuminating, and the love I am receiving from friends and family very comforting. More later! I am using this Caring Bridge site because, as much as I love you all, I cannot be updating you all individually. My energy has to be directed to my healing at this point.
