My father-in-law has had some pretty major health struggles the last few years including quintuple bypass surgery followed by 6 days on a ventilator, paralyzed vocal cords, a tracheotomy, and prostate cancer. Before that he had already been dealing with congestive heart failure and diabetes for years. Recently he has been losing blood (for which he has received some transfusions), has been very weak and sleeping a lot, and has lost his appetite. 

One week ago today he was taken to the hospital because of very low blood sugar and ended up being admitted. Several scans/tests were run and it was discovered that his cancer has spread to his liver and bladder. The treatment he had undergone has not worked and he is too weak for any further treatment for the cancer. His kidney function was very low the first several days in the hospital, but has improved some the last 2 days. At this point the goal is to keep his pain under control and keep him comfortable. 

Dad has been incredibly blessed to hear from people that he has known throughout his many years of ministry. Please feel free to leave a note expressing your thoughts to Dad.

- Dad to be comfortable
- wisdom for doctors in treating Dad and advising Mom and Dad
- wisdom for Mom and Dad in decisions that need to be made
- peace and joy for Mom and Dad
- healing, if that's God's will
