A few weeks ago Frank broke his ankle. While healing at home he developed an infection. On May 12th Frank's infection all of a sudden took an extreme turn for the worse and we took him to the emergency room where he was then admitted to the hospital and sent to ICU to deal with the infections which became septic. We spent the next 5 days in ICU fighting the infection and after looking at many factors made the extremely difficult decision to amputate Frank's foot. Due to the infection we had to do this in 2 surgeries. The first surgery was May 17th and then he needed to spend time in the hospital fighting infection before the 2nd surgery.
