DONATION UPDATE:  Please do not donate on the CARING BRIDGE SITE.  This money will go to CaringBridge and the Garcia family will not see it.  If you want to donate funds, please use the Ways To Help Link to navigate to the gofundme site.  Thank you and apologies for the confusion!  The link to the Go Fund Me site is:  https://funds.gofundme.com/dashboard/francesgarcia

What Happened, for those that are not aware yet:

3:00 AM Tuesday, October 24 - Frances was brought into the hospital at ANMC.  She was revived and now remains in a coma.  There was a  large amount of swelling pushing against her spine and brain, causing stiffness in her body.  Since then, the stiffness seems to have lessened.  The swelling is still not at a level that we would like to see it.

She has been on life support.  Her breathing machine regulates her breathing and detects anytime she attempts to breathe on her own.  On Tuesday, she was taking approximately 10 breaths per hour on her own.  Wednesday morning brought an update that increased the number to 14 per hour.  This gave us hope...

They placed Frances's body into a hypothermia state to cool her down in a further attempt to decrease the swelling.  Over the next few days, they will bring her body back up to temperature and analyze how her body reacts - brain activity, swelling, e.t.c.

Many people have visited her over the last couple days and we truly appreciate this.  We think that Frances knows that she has many people that love her and are here for her.  At times, she will attempt to move her hand, her heart rate spikes, tears will roll from her eyes, and she opens her eyes (although unable to focus on anything at this time).  All these signs give us hope of a recovery and that she knows deep down we are here.  Hearing our voices generates a reaction from her and tells us that she is fighting.  She is a fighter.

Frances has touched so many of our hearts and has been there in the time of need for many of us. Now, we need to rise to the occasion to help her and her family and make sure they are taken care of. Please help the Garcia Family through this tough time.

This website has been put up to get updates out to her family and friends, without bombarding Adam with messages and calls.  The is a planner section that will help us coordinate meals for Frances's Family.  And we are starting a fundraiser.  All proceeds will go to help Frances's family with costs that are expected to be incurred - income for the family once Adam's leave time runs out (which is very soon), food, transportation expenses, daily living expenses, any additional medical-related costs they may need to cover, and any other expense that may occur during this tumultuous time this family is experiencing. We are starting low and this amount request may change dependant on Frances's status and treatment plan.

We want to be sure that the Garcia Family is OVERWHELMED with the love and joy we have for Frances and her Family.  We appreciate anything you can do.
