Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As you may know, my dear husband and very best friend is very ill. He has stage 4 liver cancer that has spread throughout his body.
After being in the hospital since last Saturday, he was released last night to return home. Home is where he desperately wanted to be.
We are using the knowledgeable and tender care of Hospice of the Valley.  They are available 24/7 to help make Ernie comfortable, as well as to assist us in whatever our needs may be. The nurse arrived late last night and spent an hour with the Ernesto, Beto, and me helping us understand how to care for him and keep him comfortable.
I am grateful he isn't experiencing much pain, but if he should, we are prepared. He mostly sleeps soundly and peacefully.
The two main doctors at the hospital believe at most he has two weeks but more likely much less.
Our goal as a family is to ensure he's comfortable and feels our love. We desire his final days to be as joyous as possible.
If you know me well, you know Ernie is mi vida, my life. I love him with all my heart. A hospice doctor suggested I talk to Ernie to reassure him of my love and especially to let him know that even though I am devastated and broken-hearted, I will be alright, that our family and friends will sustain us through this ordeal. He understood.
Many of you want to help, and I am thankful beyond words. . I'm unsure what we need, other than prayers, positive energy, and unconditional love. Our immediate support system is strong, sure, and steady.
