11/6/16 Eric was experiencing an excruciating headache and drove himself to the ER. While his independence is not a surprise to his close family and friends, it's alarming to know the risk he took to drive to St. Vincent!
He was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm and quickly moved to ICU for further testing. (Scans, etc.)
11/7/16 -Dr. DeCosta (whom we love and pray for as well) scheduled surgery for the following day.Eric was very alert, able to communicate as usual, with light sedation in an effort to keep him comfortable.
11/8/16 -Surgery began at 8:30 am, approximately 2 hours into the surgery Eric's brain started swelling and the procedure was abandoned in an effort to control the swelling.
He is currently in a medically induced coma in an effort to allow his body to rest.
Eric's son Alex needs your prayers, love and support as well! Alex respectfully asks for no visitors to Eric's room. Please feel free to join family and friends in the 3rd floor ICU waiting area. We love seeing everyone and thrive on your support!
