Elizabeth Thompson

Dear friends and family,  We wanted to share some news we recently received,   Many of you are already aware. Elizabeth was diagnosed with breast cancer and as scary as it is to hear that news there has been a lot of encouraging news to come along since the original diagnosis (election day). It had been almost exactly one year since her last mammogram, which was clean, so encourage your wives to stay on top of this. Elizabeth found the lump on October 25 and after diagnostic Mammograms, an ultra sound and a needle biopsy the call came with "not the news we wanted to hear" Needless to say we went in full information gathering and doctor appointment mode. The amount of ground we have covered in two weeks has been a blessing as other people’s surgery and appointment cancellations became our door opening to see some of the best breast cancer specialists in the city, and this usually takes weeks. This has been our confirmation God’s got this. 

So far MRI’s and other test indicate the cancer is not in the other breast or lymph nodes. It is the type that responds well to the Chemo drugs, which she will do first with surgery to follow.   While I am sure the next six months will be a challenge (to say the least), Elizabeth’s attitude has been great. She is ready to go beat it and get back to the things she enjoys. Our faith, our friends and family will carry us through. Everyone asks what can I do ? At this point prayers and encouragement for Elizabeth are most important. We know you are there for us and always have been. Thanks.
