I will attempt to keep everyone informed of dad's Kidney Transplant here.

Wow - where do we start - this has been something our family has been dealing with for so many years now I lost track how long it has really been since dad has not had to think about the health of his kidneys.   It started off by watching his diet and medications and gradually has grown over the years to - you need to think about having a kidney transplant or the alternative dialysis.  It was recommended by his providers, if dad could,  to get the transplant before having to start dialysis treatments.   For years he has been not feeling the best, but walking a thin rope of his numbers not dropping any further than they had - so as you all know dad he thought let's just wait it out.   Well - he is at that point now and has made the decision to go forward with the transplant.

First - thanks goes out to the special person who didn't know my dad, but offered a kidney just by reading his story through a church bulletin.  Please keep his donor Sara in your thoughts and prayers as well during our journey.

Dad and mom are already in Rochester having a day of pre-transplant activities.  Surgery is scheduled bright and early tomorrow morning 10/28 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester with prep at 5:30.  I will keep everyone up today as we know more.  Lisa
