Dorothy Chapman

On February 8th 2017 my mother opted for an elective surgery to better her quality of life. She had been having a very difficult time getting around and her quality of life was not good at all.  During the surgery her heart stopped. The doctors do not know why. Since this day she has been on a ventilator to help her breath. On February 11th 2017 they had to put her on a dialysis machine to help get the fluid out of her lungs so they can get the ventilator off of her.
She could communicate slightly by writing on paper but she started causing issues by pulling on her IVs and getting agitated and biting on her ventilator tube. Since Sunday she has been pretty sedated and at 100% on the ventilator. By this morning February 15th she is down to 45% on the  ventilator and showing signs of improvement.  She is still on the dialysis but the doctor is hoping to take it off of her at some point.
