Don suffered a stroke January 2nd Monday night around 11:00 pm. Fortunately, we decided to watch 1 more episode of our favorite series Game of Thrones. About 10 minutes into the show Don displayed all the symptoms of a stroke. I was able to get him to the hospital within 25-30 minutes of onset and they administered the miracle stroke drug TPA. He is improving daily! I'm still in awe at how much he has progressed in one week. Dr says he will fully recover and that his recovery has been remarkable. Also, the stroke was due to a blocked artery on the left side of his neck. The Blockage was not caused by having high cholesterol. Therefore, they will be running more tests in the future to find out the cause of the blood thickening. They are unable to run tests now due to the type of blood thinners he is on. Don is currently in the inpatient rehabilitation area where he is doing Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. Since the therapy is very demanding and exhausting, Don can Not have visitors. We are so grateful that the stroke occurred at home when we were both watching Game of Thrones. We are also very grateful for the wonderful friends and family that surround us!! Thank you for all your thoughts prayers and support. Please share this website with friends. God Bless!
