Dick is at the end stage of interstitial lung disease (ILD) and is resting comfortably at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He has had many family and friends visit and is enjoying these visits. However he is weak and needs lots of rest Please text or call Elaine at 781-640-4917 if you would like to come by. We're asking at this point that people do not drop by without contacting Elaine first.
Dick was first diagnosed with ILD in early 2015 and was put on supplemental oxygen. This has allowed him to live a fulfilling although increasingly limited life for the past two years at home. Thankfully ILD, even at this stage, is not a painful disease and medication combined with the incredible staff at the Kaplan House are keeping him comfortable and in good spirits.
