Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  As some of you may know, recently  Denny was diagnosed with a form of head and neck cancer called Squamous Cell Carcinoma.  He had a painful bump in his mouth for a while that didn't seem to go away and eventually grew larger. The tumor is currently located on the roof of his mouth with parts of it extended to the left side of his mouth. On Feb 8th, Denny will have a surgical procedure to remove the tumor and take part of fibula bone from his leg to remake the top and roof of his mouth. This surgery is expected to take 10-14 hours. There will be one surgeon for the removal of the tumor and another surgeon to do the reconstruction. Depending on how much healthy tissue is left, they may need to do a skin graft using the skin on his arm or shin in order to reconstruct everything properly. Denny will need to be in the ICU for 3 days and in the hospital for at least a week following the surgery.   This is going to be a long road ahead for their family physically and emotionally. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind words and prayers. God Bless! Thank you for visiting.
