A brief history of how we got here. Dennis' family has a long history of Pancreatitis and Pancreatic Cancer. His mom lost her short battle to cancer at the age of 38 but also suffered from Pancreatitis since she was 3 according to Grandma Rosemary. Dennis was lucky enough to have only had a handful of episodes but has always stayed on top of his health (thank goodness). The Doctors this past winter said they noticed a significant change in his pancreas and he was diagnosed with diabetes at a fairly young age almost a year ago. These two factors are sure signs that he is on the path to cancer. With pancreatic cancer usually when it is finally detected it is because it has spread. Dennis has chosen to have this surgery as a cancer preventive.
