Welcome to Debie Dutcher's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated.

*At the family's request, we ask that you refrain from speaking about Debie's health when around the kids. While we are incredibly grateful for the concern and support, Debie and Scot would like to provide as much normalcy as possible for their kids/family. Even with the best of intentions, this becomes increasingly difficult when the focus at every event or interaction turns to her health and becomes an emotional conversation. While we welcome and encourage those expressions of support on this page, please understand that Debie and Scot will determine what and when they feel it is appropriate to share information with their kids so please respect their boundaries and desire to protect them.

As most of you know, Debie began feeling poorly just before Christmas. She was having abdominal pain and occasional pain in her kidneys. She visited an urgent care in Estes Park, where they completed blood work and an abdominal X-ray. The X-ray showed she had a displaced diaphragm but shed little light on her discomfort. She followed up with her local physician who ordered more blood work and a abdominal ultrasound, which revealed liver abnormalities, consistent with "fatty liver" and a cyst on her left kidney. She was then referred to a gastroenterologist, who ordered a MRI and a series of liver function tests. She had the MRI last Tuesday, February 4 and received the results the same day, revealing a tumor on her pancreas and 6 lesions (abnormalities) on her liver. Debie had a biopsy of her pancreas on Thursday, February 6 and as of this time, has not received results of the biopsy. As more information is available, I'll continue to update this page.

We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement. We believe in the power of prayer and are grateful to be surrounded by caring family, friends and community. Thank you for visiting and feel free to forward or share with friends and family who would like to stay updated.

We have included many people in the initial announcement and did not intend to exclude anyone unless we simply didn't have their email address.  If there is someone you think should be included in updates, please feel free to send them an invite.
