After a long year of health challenges, including 1 hernia and 2 pacemaker surgeries, dad's ongoing heart condition declined, affecting the rest of his system. After several weeks of treatment for infections, he was admitted to Regional at beginning of June. At end of June was transferred to St. Anne's Home in skilled nursing unit. At this point, he was placed under hospice care, with main priorities being comfort rather than rehabilitation.
