Here is my story, so far. Since about January, I had been having some mild digestive issues. I thought it was just normal stuff due to being almost 47 years older. On March 8, 2021, I went for a colonoscopy and they discovered a tumor blocking about 3/4 of my colon passageway.  The tumor was biopsied and determined to be malignant. I then went for a CT scan where it was found that the cancer had metastasized from my colon to my liver. On March 19, 2021 (one day after my 47th birthday) I had bowel resection surgery to remove the tumor from my colon. While the surgery was a success and I am almost fully recovered from it, there are 25-30 lesions in my liver, too numerous and pervasive to be removed.  On March 29, 2021, Jeni and I went to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. They have my tissue samples and if I am a match for clinical trial they will contact me. They, along with my local oncologist, recommended that I begin traditional chemotherapy as soon as possible. I had a chemotherapy port installed in my chest on April 2, 2021 and I am scheduled for my first treatment on  April 8, 2021.

Some days we are so glad to have family and friends to talk to and other days are just too overwhelming and we can’t summon the energy to speak to anyone.
