Be of good cheer about death and know this as a truth -- that no evil can happen to a good man, either in life or after death. -- Socrates

We shared that we would be putting together a Celebration of Life for Dave.  We have scheduled the celebration but unfortunately the venue has a limited capacity.  We are going to need to limit the guest list to immediate family and friends.  I apologize.  I would love to see each and everyone of you there.  Please make a toast to our beloved Dave.

Welcome to our website honoring Dave Simon (May 2, 1936 - March 19, 2018). We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Visit and share memories in the Gallery and in the Journal. If you'd like to give in his memory, you may do so in  the Ways To Help section of this website (please ignore Go Fund Me; the charity we have chosen if you wish to send a memorial is Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies). We will be having a Celebration of Life in lieu of a funeral, which will be posted on here once details are available. We appreciate all your endless love and support. Dave was a good man surrounded by wonderful caring people.

Dave was a husband, father, step-father, grandfather, friend and mentor.  So many people loved him because he was authentic, kind, funny, respectful, modest, empathetic and loyal.  Those that knew him held a deep respect for him.

Dave was born in Chicago, IL to Nat and Evelyn Simon.  His sister, Joan Sue, passed away in her early 20s of a brain tumor.  He graduated from high school in Chicago, received an engineering degree from Purdue University and later received a Masters Degree in Business from the University of Phoenix.

The past 20 years he has shared his life with his wife Dee.  They enjoyed travel, camping in their RV, movies, and dinners out and sharing their home with their family and friends.

Dave loved his children: Rick (Sherry) Simon of Ft Worth, TX; Stacey Simon of Denver, CO; Grant (Jenn) Simon of Aurora, CO and his children by marriage Dan (Laurie) Barela of Denver, Steve (Maiya) Barela of Geneva, Switzerland and Brooke Burnaugh of Austin, TX.  Grandchildren are Cooper, Hannah and Avery Simon, Johnny, Jacque and Jaycob Orozco-Egan and Gabi Simon; Nambe and Miles Barela and Isa Barela.

Thank you for visiting.
