Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

In early November of 2016 I received news that shocked me beyond words.  I cannot even explain what I felt or didn't

feel when my surgeon called me and said, "they found cancer."  I was at a Chiles' soccer game with my son,

Aidan, and fellow soccer moms cheering on our teen boys when I got the

call.  My son, Tag was out on the pitch

making me so proud and even scored while I was on the phone.   Thanks

Cancer for making me miss that goal.  You

suck by the way!

From that day forward the appointments began.  From diagnostic

mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsy, MRI, pre-ops, surgeries, consultations, post-surgical

visits, phone calls, meeting new doctors and nurses.  I think I have mentioned all involved but if

I have forgotten a procedure/appointment…please forgive.  Needless to say, it has been cumbersome and

expensive.  But anything to kill this

ugly beast!

The roller coaster of emotions varied from day to day and visit to visit.  Luckily, I have the BEST support system you

could ask for.  From God (without my

faith and love for the Lord, I’d have lost this fight), BFF s, friends, co-worker

(really family), my blood family, and my AMAZING and FOREVER loving husband and

boys.  This crew, now known as “Team

Cookie” has carried me through this fight.

So here we are, January

16, 2017!  I now have a treatment plan,

which will include chemotherapy, radiation, and Tamoxifen (all in that

order).  So, Cancer…FYI you are going down!

I’m fighting like a girl and will conquer your sorry @%#!

Heavenly Father,

I may not understand

how everything will work out,

but I trust you.  I don’t see a way,

but I know you will make a way,

I have faith at this very moment

You are touching hearts,

opening doors, and

lining up the right breaks and

right opportunities.  Things may

look dark and bleak now, but

I have faith that my dawn is coming.

In Jesus name, amen!
