Dad traveled from Florida to Baltimore to visit friends when he suffered a massive stroke on9/18/17. His left side is affected. Dad still had his whit. To protect his airway he was placed on the ventilator( breathing machine). Dad continued to be mentally aware communicating with nodding & shaking his head. On 9/2517, he had a tracheostomy tube & feeding tube placed. Currently, dad is breathing on his own without the ventilator through his trach and is waiting for a bed opening in an acute rehab facility.
