Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Two months ago, Dad was playing tennis three days a week. Five weeks ago,  he went to the ER at UAB and was soon diagnosed with stage four Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He had one round of chemo and had a number of adverse side effects. Dad was not happy and was in a great deal of discomfort.  His amazing oncologist, Dr. Mehta, was hesitant to give another dose.  Dad made the decision to enjoy his time with family and friends. And that he has been doing.  Surrounded by family and friends from near and far,  Dad has enjoyed visiting with people and sharing memories of great times together.  His is certainly a life well lived and he attributes that to all the wonderful people sharing the journey with him.
Dad is in Hospice at the Skilled Nursing facility at Brookdale in Homewood. He wanted to spend this time with Mom, so they are now both in a semi-private room and it's a comfortable  set-up.
They enjoy having friends and family stop by.
We will provide updates. Thank you.
