Hi Family and Friends
As many of you know, Connie was diagnosed with sjogren's syndrome (
http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/sjogrens-syndrome/basics/definition/con-20020275), an autoimmune disorder that has made it hard for her to eat and Peripheral Neuropathy (
http://www.webmd.com/brain/understanding-peripheral-neuropathy-basics#1) which has impacted her ability to walk. For years, Connie has been working hard with her doctors to find a cure or treatment for these diseases. Despite her efforts, her health has continued to deteriorate as a result of these diseases. On March 19th, Connie made the decision to switch to Pallative Care (
https://getpalliativecare.org/whatis/) (with the help of Hospice). Instead of spending her time finding a cure, she will be spending her time enjoying the rest of her life in comfort with loved ones.
Updates on her health and condition will be updated. In addition, we will be attaching links to sign up to provide meals for Jim (and family members that are helping care for Connie) as well as times for possible visits. We ask that you hold off on phone calls or visiting while we work figuring out what is best for Connie and her health.
Please post messages of love for Connie that support her health and well being. We will make sure that she personally sees your posts, daily. Connie is a fighter and needs all of our support as she shifts her focus, in the face of disabling disease, to maintaining her health and well being.
