Colton is Amsey and Teri  Leid's son. He was injured in a 3 wheeler accident on June 9th 2015. His back was broken at that time  together with fractures in some of the other vertebrae. Emergency surgery was done. He was sent home in a back brace that he wore for 3 mons. Healing seemed to take long. During this time he went to therapy. At about 5 mons. he started having pain in his back and we noticed the screws were coming to the surface. He went to surgery to have those removed. Probably a year and a half later we noticed that he was starting to develop a curve which in medical terms is called kyphosis. It of course lead us to looking for help for him. We went to Kansas City to meet a specialist and also to Shriners Hospital in St. Louis. Looking for a full correction at that time, these 2 places were not able to give us much hope. In continuing our search we found this doctor in Wichita at Wesley Medical Center. We visited with Dr Steven Ericson & he was able to give us a better end result. He visited with a Dr in Germany and together they came up with the plan of how to fix Colton's back. After several consultations a surgery date was set for Feb. 13.
