On May 16th I went in for my 24 week anatomy scan for Cole and learned that he has a left sided diaphragmatic hernia. As a lot of you know your diaphragm is what separates your chest from your abdomen on the inside of your body. Cole has a large hole on the left side of his diaphragm that has allowed his bowel, stomach, and spleen into his chest where his left lung should be. It has kept a large part of his left lung from growing like it should and has pushed his heart to the right side of his chest. This diagnosis comes with life long struggles and other complications. He will be in the NICU for an extended amount of time so we will be spending a lot of time in Lubbock with him. We ask for continued support, prayers, and good thoughts as we continue on this journey with our Baby Cole.
