Claudia Elaine (Moses) Bishop Claudia Fights MSA

Hi, I am Kassidi and I need your help.  Over the past few years, and because of dizziness and falling, My Mom was treated for vertigo. Then she was believed to have hydrocephalus - which is treated by placing a shunt into the brain to allow excess fluid to be removed.  On Easter of 2017, Mama fell in the middle of the night and broke her wrist which is now going to heal deformed because she cannot withstand the surgery.

Our worst nightmare came true on April 26th, 2017.  My family's lives changed forever.  Mom was diagnosed with a terminal illness - MSA. Multiple system atrophy, or MSA, is a rare, degenerative neurologic condition that affects both men and women, usually starting in the 50’s or early 60’s. MSA is considered a type of parkinsonism but with more widespread effects on the brain and body.  Most MSA patients pass away from the disorder or its complications within 9 years of diagnosis. However, Mom looks to have between 1-3 years to live.  Her symptoms will resemble those of ALS...she will lose the loss of her legs, not be able to swallow, breathe, and her heart, lungs and other organs will shut down.

My Mom lives with me and my 8 year old daughter.  We are originally from Colorado but moved to Oklahoma because I received a scholarship to law school. I have since abandoned law school to take care of my Mom and daughter full time.  I was supposed to graduate last May.

Since my Mom cannot be left at home alone, I am currently getting my real estate licence so I can work from home and take of both of them. The medical bills and everyday living expenses are piling up and I'm asking prayers and any help you can provide.  I will always be here for my Mama and have two precious souls I am now in control of.

This disease is so rare (only 15,000 cases in the US in 2013). PLEASE HELP!  We have spent over $2500 in the last four months in co-pays, lab work, tests, and this is just the beginning.  Her doctors want to send her to specialists in Dallas ASAP and need money for transport and housing until tests are completed.

Please pray and share her story. There is also a fundraiser for her at https://www.youcaring.com/claudiaelainebishop-828056. Every little bit helps and we need all the support we can get.

God bless you and thank you!
