I live in beautiful Fairhope, Alabama with my husband of 35 years. My son and his wife live in Baton Rouge while he is pursuing his doctorate in Oceanography. My  daughter, Kathleen, is in graduate school in Savannah pursuing her master's degree in Speech pathology. For the past twenty years, I have taught special education in Fairhope. I have been blessed with wonderful students and the best work family. I have been fortunate to enjoy excellent health all of my life. It was a shock to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer when I thought I was dealing with kidney stones. Being sick is a new experience for me and has brought many new challenges. It was particularly hard to take  leave of absence from my job. My illness has also brought me closer to God, family, and friends.  Fortunately, I have a wonderful support team of family and friends. Glenn, my husband, has taken over the role of my caregiver and my mother in law, Shirley is his assistant filling in when needed.. I couldn't have anyone better taking care of me. My sister, Kathy, is keeping up this page. She is also my rock and directs my thinking back to the positive when I'm feeling down. I am humbled to have so many wonderful friends bringing by meals and visiting. Most important of all, I have many people praying for my restored health and healing. Prayer is very powerful, and I am confident God will get me through this.
