Meet Cindy Lynn, she is a 6 year old Daddy's girl and so full of life. She is always willing to hold your hand and tell you a story. She lights up a room and make all those around her smile. She has a special way of touching peoples heart upon first glance. Cindy had what we thought was a stye on her lower eyelid. However, after several doctors, drops and antibiotics later the growth kept getting enlarged. Daddy finally had enough of waiting for referrals to come through and decided to take her to OU Childrens Hospital on 4/30/2019.
After a round of tests they received devastating news on May 2, 2019 that Cindy has Acute Myeloid Leukemia along with Chloroma tumors in multiple places in her face. We are still awaiting the final testing to determine exactly what time of AML it is.
She has been refered to St. Judes Childrens Hospital in Memphis, TN for treatments. Daddy will have to make the commute back and forth. But not only will he commute he will have to update his house for a clean room for Cindy and attempt to take care of the family left behind.
What makes this even more odd is Cindy is also named after her (Dads Mother) grandmother Cynthia Lynn Hazen. She passed away from the same diagnosis when her Daddy was 20. So this is close to his heart and if this cant get more odd she was also diagnosed on her grandmothers birthday.
On a personal note we are a blended family, my future wife Tia Flowers and I (Hunter Hazen). together we have 5 kids between us. Yes we stay busy but are a tight nit family. Cindy is blessed to have 3 brothers and a older sister living at home waiting her return and recovery.
