Chris has had some unusual symptoms over the last few months and received a diagnosis of endocarditis, infection of a heart valve, on July 26. He was admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics. A week after hospitalization they realized the heart valve was eroded and that he would eventually have to face valve repair or replacement after the infection cleared. One day after discharge, a complication developed....part of the infection had broken off of the heart valve and gone to the brain where it had been "silently eroding" an artery and suddenly caused a brain bleed and stroke like symptoms (infected michotic aneurysm). Chris is currently in the hospital in Dothan, in ICU, and, at this time, is stable. He is facing long term hospitalization and eventual valve replacement surgery. Chris and Lindsay's baby is due any day. Daily updates will be posted, and your prayers and comments are very much appreciated.
